ABOUT OUR PASTOR
Dr. Ava S. Harvey Sr. is the pastor of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church of Brandon, Mississippi, and he is married to Mrs. Leslee B. Harvey; they have two children, Amari and Ava Jr. Prior to entering full-time ministry, he worked in the Telecommunications industry.
Pastor Harvey is a sought out speaker that annually frequents multiple revivals, conferences, and workshops. He has also served as a seminary board member of the McKinley Theological Seminary; he has been a Keys-2-Life volunteer and Big Brother mentor for many years.
Pastor Harvey holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Jackson State University, a master of divinity degree from Wesley Biblical Seminary, and a doctor of ministry degree from the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2010 he was honored as Pastor of the Year by the Mississippi Gospel Music Awards, and in 2015 Pastor Harvey was given the prestigious HEADWAE Academic Excellence Award by the Mississippi State Legislature.
His passion for God and his love for the people of the Lord are his driving motivation.
